Bongs are very unique and special instruments in our daily life. A Bong is like a small (although there are many large bongs) Hookah. An Hookah - as you can see in picture number 1 - simple Hookah, is an instrument dedicated for smoking. It has a large neck, an hose, and a place to put flavored tobacco or whatever it is you're smoking. Lets go back to the bong department.

Bongs are like small bottles, and they're goal is to make it easier, faster even healthier (some might say) to smoke. You just need to drop some water in the bong, put your herbal stuff on, and light up, up your throat. In bong, you get several benefits:
1. Smaller head (hit/rip) then rolling up a cigarette. A small head makes has bigger influence then a small rolled cigarette.
2. Bongs are fast - water & lighter, that the bong's special secret. If you have them, you have a working smoking instrument.

Most (maybe 99%) of our days bongs, are water bongs. A water bong is a bong with water inside. Why do we fill the bong bottom with water? Well, a bong is a smoking instrument (like pipes, cigarettes etc.) and as a smoking instrument, the bong should cool the smoke coming out of burning the leaves you burn. Ice bong is a special and unique bong. We already know that a cool bong is a bong that cools. This bong, an ice bong, is the best way cooling down the smoke. Ice bong has a place for 4-5 ice cubes in the middle of the bong's neck. The smoke going up the neck, takes a cool refreshing 'bath' over the ice cubes, and you get a nice cool breeze going up your throat.
